Welcome to The Church. Your own five level home inside an 1891 red-brick church in Armadale. Gothic arched windows, a church-scale void soaring over the lounge and a loft lounge tucked right up under the roof. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms plus a powder room, and a walled brick courtyard made for long dinners. Pet friendly. High Street's boutiques and cafes are a short stroll, the tram stops at the corner and the train is five minutes' walk. Stay somewhere you'll talk about for years.

Built in 1891 as a Primitive Methodist church and reworked in 1928, this red-brick landmark was later converted into private residences. The Church is one of them, and it keeps the building's bones front and centre. Step through the gothic timber door and look up. The living room sits beneath a soaring church-scale void, with tall arched windows pouring light across warm timber floors. Glass doors open straight onto your private walled courtyard: old brick underfoot, greenery climbing the walls, an outdoor lounge and a dining table for six. Ground floor Living room, dining beneath an original arched window, and a galley kitchen behind the old timber door with gas cooking, dishwasher, coffee machine and a breakfast bar for four. Plus a study and library with a gas fireplace and library ladder, a reading nook, a powder room and the laundry. Level 1 Bedroom one with a double bed, and a full bathroom. Level 2 The main bedroom. A king bed, a daybed and a triangle window to the treetops, with its own ensuite. Level 3 The loft bedroom. A queen bed beneath the original pitched timber ceiling, with a skylight framing the sky. Level 4 The loft lounge at the very top. Dark timber beams, skylights and plenty of cushions. This is the room guests remember. Every bedroom has its own reverse cycle air conditioner, and the living areas are heated and cooled. A Smart TV with streaming is in the living room.
Other Details to Note
Check-in is from 3:00 PM. Check-out is by 10:00 AM. Your host meets you at the property on arrival to show you through. For your security, a Ring video doorbell at the front door covers only the small entry area between the front door and the iron gate. A Minut noise sensor in the back courtyard measures outdoor sound levels only and does not record audio or video. There are no cameras or noise monitors inside the home.

Armadale is one of Melbourne's most tightly held pockets, and The Church sits right in it, on the corner of Kooyong Road and Wattletree Road. High Street's boutiques, galleries and restaurants are a short walk away. Malvern Central and the cafes of Glenferrie Road are a few blocks further. There are six off-lead dog parks within walking distance, so bring the dog. Prahran Market, Chapel Street and Toorak Road are 10 to 15 minutes away.

Tram Route 5 runs directly along Wattletree Road, with stops at Kooyong Road and Egerton Road within one to two minutes walk of the property. Route 6 runs along High Street Armadale, approximately five minutes away, and connects directly through Prahran, South Yarra and into the CBD. Armadale Station is approximately 400 metres from the property, a four to five minute walk, and connects to Melbourne CBD in 15 to 20 minutes by train. Free all-day street parking is just around the corner on Kooyong Road. Please don't park on Wattletree Road, which has morning and afternoon clearways.
